Thursday early morning a Mekong peace-keeping operation unit confiscated 800 dogs to be smuggled to Laos at Don Phaeng village (Ban Phaeng District) in Thailand from a truck which was waiting for the ferry to Laos.

The dogs’ destination was Vietnam where they should be slaughtered in a terrible, inhumane and brutal, way.

They arrested Preecha Utthasri whilst the other mafia-gang members had a change to flee, as so many times is happening.

The WORLDWIDE VETERINARY SERVICE about the Vietnamese taste for “delicacies”:

“Thousands of dogs are being slaughtered every week in the lucrative dog meat trade in Asia. This illegal and barbaric trade carries out some of the most inhumane acts of cruelty ever imagined. Many are pets that have been stolen, which are then crammed in to tiny metal cages, transported over great distances and then tortured and skinned alive.
WVS has been contacted by the Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand who are desperately trying to help over 800 dogs that were intercepted while being smuggled over to Vietnam. 119 had already suffocated in the cramped conditions, but the rest have now been taken to a government quarantine station. Unfortunately they are not out of trouble yet. Many are in desperate need of veterinary attention, with trauma injuries, pneumonia and now an outbreak of distemper which is claiming the lives of around 10 dogs a day. The Soi Dog Foundation and the Thai veterinary authority are doing everything they can, but they desperately need more vets to provide the urgent care required.”
