Supoj fortune ‘came from rail projects’ (Thailand)

The cash kept at the residence of transport permanent secretary Supoj Saplom came from electric railway projects, Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung told an interpellation session in parliament yesterday.

Mr Chalerm responded to a question from Pichet Chuamuangpan, a fellow MP from the Pheu Thai Party, who inquired about the robbery at Mr Supoj’s house in Bangkok on Nov 12.

Some reports suggest the robbers made off with tens of millions of baht in banknotes while hundreds of millions of baht was left in the house.
